Issue 663 of TVB Weekly features the main cast of currently airing sitcom O.L. Supreme, including Liza Wang, Denise Ho, Chapman To, Ron Ng, and Koni Lui. I haven’t started the show but according to most of the viewers, O.L. Supreme is enjoyable. Liza takes on a different persona from her super bossy and powerful image in the War of In-Laws duology. Ron is a bus geek, very detached from his previous hot-tempered roles. Koni exerts more feminine charms. Chapman and Denise create hilarious situations. What’s not to see?

TVB Weekly Issue 662
Issue 662 of TVB Weekly is all about the "I love you, you love me" scenario and the "feminine husband, masculine wife" couple from laugh-out-loud romantic comedy My Better Half, starring Maggie Cheung and Michael Miu. (Thoughts on show coming soon!) The cover story talks about their characters Lai Sum and Ching Sum, respectively, as well as what each of them are currently filming. Maggie is working on Women Hurt the Most while Michael is on the set of COPS.
(I’m not sure if there are more pages with Theresa Lee and Michael Tse since our scanner didn’t send me any. I would like to see them featured too! But there is a section devoted to In the Eye of the Beholder and you can find the scans at the Myolie Wu site. I had no idea Wayne Lai is in Beholder. That’s something to look forward to.)
Denise Ho stands tall on the cover of TVBeauty Queen. If you like her, don’t miss her appearance in O.L. Supreme!

TVB Weekly Issue 658
Issue 658 of TVB Weekly is more or less an advertisement for the mega-casted movie 72 Tenants of Prosperity (72家租客), said to be releasing on February 11, 2010, in time for Chinese New Year. The cast is too large to name, so you can refer to handy-dandy Wikipedia or the official site. Nevertheless, this issue only takes a look at some of the more main artists, including Eric Tsang, Jacky Cheung, Anita Yuen, Bosco Wong, Stephy Tang, Wong Cho Lam, and Linda Chung. There is also a nice spread of the entire cast joyously celebrating under a sky of confetti. Gorgeous Bernice Liu and cute Kate Tsui stand on the side. See if you can identify anymore big stars through the flock of arms and hands!!
As a bonus, a hot Florence Kwok graces the cover of TVB Life.
TVB Weekly Issue 614
Issue 614 of TVB Weekly was published back on March 30, 2009, featuring the adorable Niki Chow. I believe it was to promote Sakura Memories when it aired last year. The cover article talks about Niki’s life and there are some images of her and her family, when she was younger. How correct it is though, is beyond me. I sure wish Niki’s career could be as colorful and fruitful like the images here.
TVB Weekly Issue 656-657
Initially, I was not going to post these scans of TVB Weekly that TySh sent over, because I found the cover stories irrelevant and uninteresting.
Issue 656 is about the Jade Solid Gold (JSG) awards, which I have never really cared for, particularly when these awards are supposed to honor "powerful songs" and "golden melodies" but the actual winners turn out to be not so representative. But then, who am I to make such a statement when I don’t even follow the singers or awards? Shame on me, eh. But while I’m at it, let me make one last somewhat related comment. Being a Raymond Lam fan, I support and believe he very much qualifies for the heavy trophy that he got, but I don’t think he deserves it at this point in his career, and frankly, I think he’s putting too much on his platter. This, however, may not be his fault. I simply hope he doesn’t get pushed up too high and fall too hard.
TVB Weekly Issue 655
Issue 655 of TVB Weekly features Esther Kwan and Roger Kwok and some information on their new drama, The Season of Fate (五味人生). As the literal translation to the Chinese title is Five Flavors of Life, Esther and Roger present you their five expressive reactions to sweet, sour, hot, bitter, and salty. Very cute!
TVB Weekly Issue 654
Issue 654 of TVB Weekly features Linda Chung and Steven Ma cuddling with each other and some cute dogs to promote their latest drama, A Watchdog’s Tale (老友狗狗).
TVB Weekly Issue 652
Having thought A Chip Off the Old Block would be the cover story this time around, I was slightly surprised that issue 652 of TVB Weekly features two fadans, Kate Tsui and Myolie Wu. It is fitting in a way since both are leading ladies of currently airing dramas Beauty of the Game and Chip, respectively, as well as good friends. Background theme of the cover story is snow, just in time for the holidays. I believe the article sums up the fruitful careers of these two actresses in 2009 and what is to be expected for 2010.
Somewhat off-topic but as far as I can tell, next year is an extraordinarily competitive year for the younger generation fadans. With Tavia Yeung still going strong and lots of series lined up for both Linda Chung and Fala Chen, will Kate and Myolie be pushed to the back while focusing more on their movie/music careers? I wonder …
TVB Weekly Issue 650
Issue 650 of TVB Weekly features the winners of this year’s TVB 42nd Annivesary Awards, specifically highlighting the lovely trio Wayne Lai, Sheren Tang, and Tavia Yeung sharing their happiness as they hold onto their uno, dos, tres–a total of six trophies!! Wayne had posted some of the studio shots on his blog too. Other winners including Michael Tse, Susan Tse, Ngo Ka Nin, Aimee Chan, and Lee Tim Sing also have a page to themselves. There is then a spread on fashion and other tidbits that had occurred on awards night. Looking back, Angie Chiu was stunning as well.
The cover of TVB Life has Koni Lui posing to promote a skincare product. Her legs are seriously just as beautiful as those of Joey Meng. Finally, on the TVB Beauty Queen cover is Aimee. This issue is a keeper!
