If only TVB series were actually as attention-grabbing and world-shattering as their promotional videos, seriously, I would be more of an enthusiastic blogger. (I’m in no way using this as an excuse for my lack of intelligent compositions. It’s the truth.)
That said, I found this teaser last night and boy, did it get me jumping up and down for TVB releases later this year! The dramas included are chronologically, Growing Through Life (Damian Lau, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong), Heaven and Earth (Bowie Lam, Kenny Wong, Moses Chan, Charmaine Sheh), tentatively Women Hurt the Most (Maggie Cheung, Joe Ma), Gun Metal Gray (Michael Miu, Felix Wong, Jessica Hsuan), Can’t Buy Me Love (Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan), and last but definitely not least the semi-sequel to Rosy Business (Sheren Tang, Wayne Lai). Will 2010 mark a new era for TVB?

I’m sure many of you have already heard about the corruption fiasco surrounding Stephen Chan, who was the host of Be My Guest and General Manager (GM) of TVB. If you have not, please read the news here. I did not plan on posting anything about this since the news have been spreading 1000 mph around the internet highway. But more news seem to pop up everyday regarding this matter and involving more artists and opinions. In addition, I think as TVB fans, it’s important to be aware of what’s going on with the company, even if it’s not as great as it used to be. The whole situation also makes for some very interesting business/political drama. And who knows? You might get more insight into what’s really going on behind-the-scenes, how the company is treating your favorite artists, or even where the brighter/darker future of the company may be.
What I’m posting here is a translated article about the 4 parties found in TVB. Whether the details are true is not something I can tell you, but I think the article is a very good read–direct, honest, and sound. I will also collect all news regarding this matter and make a list linking to them at the end of this post. That way, we’ll have a "library" of this case. I won’t be writing any thoughts about this matter yet, because it’s still too early to speak. I don’t want to sound like an idiot, pointing fingers here and there when I know little to nothing about what’s hidden beneath the cover. I might make some comments once we hear of an actual verdict and understand the story in its entirety.
Please keep reading for all the awfully juicy details.

How many words are there to describe satisfaction? I’m content, pleased, happy, fulfilled (?), and wholeheartedly accept winners from this year’s exciting TVB 42nd Anniversary Awards. That was all I needed to make me smile on my special day. Now, read on to see what happened and who won!

There is approximately one week until we find out the results to this year’s TVB 42nd Anniversary Awards, which will broadcast on December 4, 2009. With the ever-raging voices of fans supporting almost the same batch of nominees, it will be interesting to see whether TVB decides to listen to the masses or continue with their we-don’t-care favoritism tactic. Of course, the latter has a higher chance of happening, as we all should know by now, but last year’s awards proved that to be somewhat wrong. Perhaps, a miracle will light upon us this December.
Although TVB increased the number of nominee slots and changed the date of their usual anniversary broadcast in order to make way for beloved grand productions Beyond the Realm of Conscience and throw in Born Rich as a side treat, there is still some time before we witness the consequence(s) to this decision. Everything may turn out warm and fuzzy and everyone goes home happy. Everything can get "burned to ashes". We’ll see. But the fact that Beyond finishes airing right before the awards show gives it a much bigger advantage over Born and no, I’m not forgetting Rosy Business. However, do you really think Rosy has a chance? Do you? TVB changed the "rules" for a certain reason, and that reason is certainly obvious.
No matter what, show your support, congratulate winners when the time comes, rage as much as you want. But remember, talent is talent. Awards don’t necessarily change that unbendable truth and with that, my picks follow …
